sidewayssotheearisfacingupwards.Foranolderchildoradult,
itisbesttostandbehindandslightlytothesideofthepatient.
• Alwaystakethetemperatureinthesameear,sincethetempera-
turereadingsmaybedifferentfromeartoear.
• Waitforafewminutestotaketheeartemperatureaftersleeping.
• Inthefollowingsituationsitisrecommendedthatthreetempera-
turesinthesameearbetakenandthehighestonetakenasthe
reading:
1) Newborninfantsinthefirst100days.
2) Children underthreeyears ofagewith a compromisedimmune

3) When the user is learninghowtousethe thermometer for the

lyturnOFFtheunit,press and holdtheSTARTbuttonfor5seconds
until«---»andtheflashing«°C»or«°F»iconisshownontheLCD.
Switchthemeasurementscalebetween°Cand°Fbypressingthe
STARTbuttonagain.Whenthemeasurementscalehasbeenchosen,
waitfor5secondsandtheunitwillenterthereadyformeasuring
modeautomatically.
